Francisco Lupiáñez-Villanueva is partner and Co-Founder of Open Evidence and Associate Professor at School of Information and Communication Science Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and researcher at the Applied Social Science and Behavioural Economics (ASSBE) from the Open University of Catalonia. His research field is concerned with the social, economic, cultural and policy issues associated with information and communication technologies specially focused on Innovative Technologies, Networked Citizens, eHealth and eInclusion.

THE CHALLENGES OF BIG DATA ON THE WEB

Ricardo Baeza-Yates has a PhD in Computer Science (University of Waterloo, Canada, 1989), in addition to a degree in Engineering and two Master’s degrees from the University of Chile. From 2006 to 2015, he was the vice president of research for Europe and Latin America, managing the laboratories in Barcelona and Santiago de Chile. His areas of research include search technologies and data mining on the Internet.

13:00h - Technical Keynote Speaker: Tilmann Rabl, Senior researcher at TU Berlin, Research director at DIMA group
BIG DATA RESEARCH IN BERLIN

Tilmann Rabl is a senior researcher at the Database Systems and Information Management (DIMA) group. At DIMA he is research director and technical coordinator of the Berlin Big Data Center (BBDC). Tilmann received his PhD at the University of Passau in 2011. He spent 4 years at the University of Toronto as a postdoc in the Middleware Systems Research Group (MSRG). Tilmann is also CEO and cofounder of the startup bankmark, for which he acquired an EXIST award. bankmark has been awarded the IKT Innovativ Award 2014 and the Weconomy Award 2015 amongst others.
